Today Boys 2, 3 and I spent the day at Hadrian’s Wall at Housesteads, and walking to Sycamore Gap from Steel Rigg car park.
This summer I’ve shared regular updates of what we’ve been up to during the school holidays – you can see a summary at our 2020: 42 Activities of Summer page.
Here are the Relive videos from our walks
And some photos:

There were plenty of hills and lots of blustery fresh air. The boys loved climbing up and down, and experiencing Hadrian’s Wall up close.
Housesteads – postcode NE47 6NN. English Heritage entry price, plus parking – £3 for 3 hours, £10 all day across all Northumberland National Park Car Parks. On site shop and toilets available.
Steel Rigg – postcode NE47 7EP. Parking charges as above. A coffee van was serving whilst we were there. Nearest toilets were at The Sill (at the main road). Vindolanda was also close by.
This evening, I’ve had tea out and great chat with a friend.
Have you visited Housesteads and Sycamore Gap? What’s your favourite Hadrian’s Wall spot?
