Today Boys 2, 3 and I visited Corbridge Roman Town, an English Heritage site along Hadrian’s Wall.
This summer I’ve shared regular updates of what we’ve been up to during the school holidays – you can see a summary at our 2020: 42 Activities of Summer page.
Here are some pictures from our visit
Despite quite heavy rain on arrival, we were encouraged by the lady on the door to have a scramble, which we did – you’ll see Boy 2 took this literally by lying on his tummy to check some of the secret passageways! We spent a good couple of hours playing hide and seek with a chatty seven year old girl Bay we met from Kent.
On Thursday we’re set to visit another Hadrian’s Wall site as on route back from our trip seeing the cousins in Carlisle, the boys saw lots of different signs and asked if we could visit them all!
We stopped at the Metro Centre for the first time since lockdown for some holiday shopping (including much needed new clothes – trousers were starting to look more like shorts) and a 50% off KFC meal. There was a one way system in place, which quite a few people were (I think, accidently) ignoring. However, we had no problem keeping a 2m distance both in and out of the shops. The KFC tables were really well spaced.
Have you been to Corbridge Roman Town? Or to Metro Centre recently?
