Summer 2019: Day 26 – Beverley
This summer I’ve posted what we’ve been up to each day of the school holidays – you can see a summary of our adventures at our 2019: 42 Days of Summer page.
Today we’ve travelled to Beverley, which is approx 10 miles north west of Hull. Our friends who live in Stevenage suggested meeting here, and so far despite the rain (all day) we’re impressed.
We’re staying at Beverley YHA close to the impressive Minster, and have easy access to the old town, and newer developments (including a shopping centre and the UKs first double decker Inflata Nation).
On arrival we walked round the town (passing some cream telephone boxes and fish from the Hull fish trail). It was nice to be reminded of our visit there earlier this summer.
We had a lovely good value meal at The Grapes (£26 for five of us – wow!), and spent the rest of the evening eagerly catching up over a few beers in the lounge .
Earlier Dad asked if we’d like to see a good joke and passed his phone round. He’d set it to camera self portrait mode so the joke was, quite literally, on us!
I hope you’ve had a good day. Have you been to Beverley? What do you recommend to do here? Thanks x
