Summer 2019: Day 21 – Google Digital Garage training and a double bill at the cinema
This summer I’ve posted what we’ve been up to each day of the school holidays – you can see a summary of our adventures at our 2019: 42 Days of Summer page.
Today I’ve had a lovely “me” day. Dad’s broken up for two weeks and offered to take the boys to a local soft play whilst I had a day to myself.
This morning I attended two courses at Google Digital Garage in Sunderland.
1) Social Media Strategy
2) Writing for Social Media
These are two of many courses on offer, both online and face to face. There’s also a Google Digital Garage Bus Tour including at the Job Centre in Washington on 14th August, and Morrisons West Denton, Newcastle on 21st August
I’ve learned so much, and I’ll share key points soon. The best part was meeting others on the course, including Suzie who’s setting up her own flower business, and Katy and Scott who are opening a gaming cafe called Cyber Anvil Gaming in Sunderland. I’m following with interest.
This afternoon I’ve watched two films at the cinema – Blinded by the Light and The Sun is Also a Star – which I’ve shared separate posts for.
The past few days Dad has been telling me jokes on an evening. When we discussed blog visions today I said one thing I’d like to include is more humour, so here are a couple that got a smile:
1) Apple pie is $2 a slice in Jamaica, and $3 dollars in Barbados. These are the Pirates (Pie rates) of the Caribbean!
2) If you’re American when you go into the bathroom, and your’re American when you come out of the bathroom, what are you when you’re in the bathroom? European
TV wise, we’ve finished Gotham Series 5, and are now working through a series called Sugar Rush (where contestants can win £10K for baking cakes).
I hope you’ve had a good day. Do you have any good jokes? What are you watching on TV at the moment?
