Summer 2019: Day 19 – Slimming World and a swim
This summer I’ve posted what we’ve been up to each day of the school holidays – you can see a summary of our adventures at our 2019: 42 Days of Summer page.
This morning at Slimming World it was our Slimmer of the Year award. Last week we’d nominated, and this week five members stood at the front and shared their story. It was incredibly motivating to see how happy they were to be nominated, and hear what losing weight meant to them. We picked up recipe ideas and got to taste samples in a tasting session. The winner had lost over five stone in the last 18 months and shared how this had given her confidence back. The longer I attend the more like family the group becomes. I love going, especially as it’s free since I’ve reached target.
Slimming World have a Golden Bus Tour underway across the UK until September to celebrate 50 years. Unfortunately, I missed attending in Newcastle as I was away but those who did said it was inspiring. There were cookery demonstrations and tasters, the opportunity to meet slimming world members and free goody bags with recipe cards – some of which I’ve enclosed below. This afternoon we watched Angry Birds 1 on Netflix (the second film is out at the cinema at the moment), and tired ourselves out at a family swim. No talk of nightmares tonight
