Summer 2019: Day 18 – lazy day at home
This summer I’ve posted what we’ve been up to each day of the school holidays – you can see a summary of our adventures at our 2019: 42 Days of Summer page.
Today we’ve hung out in onesies, switching between TV, films and tablet time, and I’ve enjoyed researching holiday activities including coastal walks in Northumberland and Yorkshire.
The boys helped Dad cut the grass before the amber weather warnings kick in accross most of England tomorrow and Saturday. If we’re still able to go ahead this will test our Whatever the Weather BBQ (planned for Saturday) to the limit. I’ve had a message from the bouncy castle company tonight suggesting we either book a venue – rather than the garden, re-schedule or cancel for a full refund. A real shame, but credit to them for being proactive.
Boy 1 has been worried about bad dreams for the past few days. We’ve tried encouraging him to talk about it, giving reassurance, suggesting strategies, and he called Mamma for a chat about it this evening. When we came up to bed tonight he was wide awake, and his covers and pillow were soaking wet with sweat. If anyone has any tips I’d welcome hearing them.
I hope you’ve had a good day What have you been up to?
