Summer 2019: Day 12 – Google Digital Garage Blog Advice
This summer I’ve posted what we’ve been up to each day of the school holidays – you can see a summary of our adventures at our 2019: 42 Days of Summer page.
Today I visited Google Digital Garage in Sunderland city centre to get help implement tips to improve my blog I’d learned at BlogOn Manchester. I now have categories inclued within my main menu to help boost my SEO (search engine optimisation), and I was chuffed to see my site listed as the top result when searching “The Hills Are Alive Adventures” in Google.
I was also recommended several free courses and anyone can book half hour one to one sessions to discuss/get help with anything IT related, as many times as you like whist they are there for the next four months.
The Digital Garage is a great example of community engagement, with local businesses being invited to deliver presentations and share experiences. I highly recommend checking their website for what’s on: https://events.withgoogle.com/google-training-in-sunderland/
On route through The Bridges shopping centre, I passed a popular pirate themed beach for children – £2 each (with 50p going to charity).
This afternoon we went for a family swim whilst the final paint in our living room was drying.
Have you been to a Google Digital Garage or the indoor beach yet? What are your thoughts?
