On Friday during half term, Boy 3 and I spent the day at Adventure Valley.
It’s was great to spend quality time with each boy one on one during the week – see Puffins and Seals at the Farne Islands for my day with Boy 1 and Northumberland County Show for my day with Boy 2). A huge thank you to Mamma and Grandad for taking one of the boys each overnight (Boy 2 and Boy 3′ first times), and then again for two of the boys as they enjoyed it so much, and to Dad for spending quality time with the other brother/s to make this possible.
Despite it being a miserable grey day, we weren’t to be put off, and Adventure Valley had a good range of activities available inside – including two big soft play areas, a bubble show, and a barn full of cowboy related activities. The rain stopped at lunchtime, so we were able to enjoy outdoor activities too including bouncing on the four bouncy pillows, the tubing, go karts and tractor ride (included within the entrance fee).
Highlights for Boy 3 included trying to lasso the horse and hit tins off a shelf with bean bags in the barn, and panning for gold. Highlights for me were seeing three peakcocks with their wings spread trying to impress a female, and horse racing on inflatable horses in the barn. Fletcher won.
Adventure Valley is one of the more expensive farms to visit, but they have a good set up, and lots on offer. There’s a sliding scale of prices depending on when you visit, as they put extra activities on during peak times. Our tickets were £11.95 each (for over twos), with activities every 30 minutes. You can save £1 online if buying at least one day in advance. They offer online gift vouchers which would make a perfect present.
